May Favorites!

May is always a great month for me. It's my birthday, the pools open, and it really starts to feel like summer. Also this meme never gets old:

The first product is my Becca highlight in opal. I previously purchased moonstone and I was feeling kind of eh about the shade. I had one of those "Why does everybody love these?" moments. Then I saw the glory that is opal and I'm in love. Not only do I highlight all the usual spots with it I also use it as eye shadow when I'm in a rush and need something simple.

Loreal Infallible pro-matte foundation has been my go to since the weather warmed up. The shade 102 shell beige matches perfect until I start to get tan. I don't need a lot just a few stripes here and there and then I blend using my it cosmetics flat top foundation brush. It's buildable and wears through my work day, which as a waitress means I'm shall we say "sparkling" quite a bit. I do set it with powder and use a primer.

Freckles!
The blush from Kat Von D I showed in my haul has been used pretty much every day this month. The shade is lovesong. It gives a beautiful color to the cheeks and it's REALLY pigmented. It's making me want to go get more shades! It is still noticeable after a day at work as far as I've noticed, but I'll have to take some pictures to compare it to a fresh application. Either way I'm loving it!

The Mario Badescu rose facial spray is substituting as my setting spray this month. I ran out of the Loreal spray and since I already had this one I decided to try it out for that purpose. It smells amazing and feels so nice and hydrating on the skin. It's great for using on a bare face or over makeup. Even though it's not marketed as a "setting spray" it works for me to remove that powdery look and since I have dry skin it gives me a nice moisture boost. For $7.00 at Ulta it can't be beat, I just got a back up.

Last but most definitely not least is the Clinique moisture surge intense moisturizer. I've been using it for awhile now and it helped get rid of my last bit of dry winter skin as well as not being too much for day time use. This will probably not be the case for anyone without skin as dry as the Sahara like me, but you might give the other gel version a shot since I hear that's better for skin that isn't so dry. I have a sample size of that as well to test out. Maybe when the real humidity strikes that will be better suited for me.

Thanks for reading Lovely Mermaids :)
